Event Manager: Science Comes to Town

In 2027, Aarhus will be host to the Horizon Europe project “Science Comes to Town”. Together with my colleagues at Science Melting Pot and Aarhus public libraries, we will be bringing together a diverse group of partners to make a year of events bringing science closer to citizens.

Workshops on food practices

As a facilitator, I create an inclusive learning space where participants can open up to their own intuition, senses and creativity. While I am often bringing some knowledge to the space, I also work to create conversations where the participants each share their different lived knowledge.

June 2026  Story Kitchen: Flowerkraut, ROOTED festival, Institut for (x)
Storytelling and fermentation workshop – hands-on practice fermenting combined with participatory storytelling. Centering seasonality and the role of more-than-humans, including microbes, cabbage, ocean, wind and flowers in our memories and relationships.

June 2026  Flowerkraut, Risskov Bibliotek
Hands-on fermentation of sauerkraut combined with practice in recognising, tasting and using seasonal flowers in the kitchen.

May 2026  Grøntsagscroquis (vegetable life drawing), Risskov Bibliotek
Drawing workshop using local, seasonal plants from a regenerative farm – to increase awareness of crops which are offered by small-scale producers. Helping to increase curiosity in diverse crops and thereby shift away from monocrop global food chains.

May 2026  Slow fast food, Risskov Bibliotek
Workshop in mealprepping and cooking easy meals with fermented foods to reduce dependence on industrial fast foods.

August 2025  Jord til bord, DOKK1
Disseminating and discussing how to buy more seasonal local foods directly from farmers, along with tasting and co-creating a meal from fresh local ingredients, and creating individual action plans.

July 2025  Konserverings Cafe – redskaber til at redde madspild, DOKK1
Collaborative food preserving event – to teach and practice methods and mindsets needed for using food before it goes to waste

Intuitive cooking practices for how to use fermentation to enhance flavour and eat more legumes

Community-growing

Just like how I grow microbial communities in my fermentation practice, I have grown/co-created several human communities, which I care for. For all these, the common thread is that members of the community can learn and share tools and mindsets to grow a pleasurable, just and sustainable world for all.

About the zine-community “The Swamp”

Through popups and workshops, we are co-creating a community in Aarhus for independent small-scale publishing aka “zine”s that make our diverse communities more inclusive through knowledge sharing.

Want to collaborate?

I am always looking for collaborators – whether illustrators who can help me package important knowledge, spaces that want to host a co-creative community-building workshop, or specialists who want help translating and grounding their knowledge into formats that resonate with people. Reach out!
