Sharing your zines
Let’s create spaces where communities can easily meet and exchange independent literature and cultural production (books, zines, etc).
Currently, we are sowing some seeds for this project by creating popups at events, as well as arranging zine-making hangouts. We are hoping to become a community that will grow these spaces together. So if you are interested in being part of this project, we hope you’ll get in touch!

Who can submit? Independent creators or small publishers.
How to submit? If you have materials, please write an email to us providing details about:
🐸 What type of material (visual, text or both, approximate size)
🐸 Which theme(s) it touches on (ie gender, sexuality, relationships, history, rights, nature)
We will provide some locations you can drop off materials and invite you to zine-making gatherings.

How does The Swamp popup market work?
Local artists submit their creations to The Swamp (we just check that it fits the theme) and on the day of the popup, the team displays it all with categories and sets up a nice reading environment for people to browse the zines, books and art.
Creators put a sleeve with their mobilepay number (or that of an organisation they wish to donate proceeds to) and the price. Typically, zines in the market are sold for 5-30 kr, and there are 5-10 copies of each zine in the popup – but these details are entirely up to the creator, who can also make the zines free or ‘Pay-what-you-want’.

Our team consists of Sarafina and Sebastien, who are active in facilitating communities in Aarhus with a focus on knowledge-sharing, along with illustrator Miriana, who brings comic and book fair experience and much more! You can participate in The Swamp… by participating in our zine-making hangouts, submitting zines to our popup markets, organising zine-making hangouts and more!
