growing more alternative, activist and queer literature and art – rooted in Aarhus, Denmark, in a grassroots, DIY ethos

Sharing your zines
Let’s create spaces where communities can easily meet and exchange independent literature and cultural production (books, zines, etc).
Currently, we are sowing some seeds for this project by creating popups at events. We are hoping to become a community that will grow these spaces together. So if you are interested in being part of this project, we hope you’ll get in touch!
Open Calls for Popups
Queer identities and sexualities (ongoing)
Feminist (March 8 kvindernes kampdag)
Worker’s rights (May 1 worker’s day)
Who can submit? Independent creators or small publishers.
How to submit? If you have materials, please write an email to us providing details about:
🐸 What type of material (visual, text or both, approximate size)
🐸 Which theme(s) it touches on (ie gender, sexuality, relationships, history, rights, nature)
We will provide some locations you can drop off materials and invite you to zine-making gatherings.

Upcoming:

If you scroll through available job posts, do they reflect the just and sustainable world you want to help build? We’re guessing not… The declaration of human rights article 23 states that everyone has the right to meaningful work – so why doesn’t that seem to be the case?…
📚️ In this workshop, we will collaboratively learn about and discuss inspiring articles on this topic to get empowered to create a system where everyone can have meaningful and sustainable work lives – including the right to not have to work at meaningless jobs and the right to be paid a liveable wage for doing meaningful types of work.
🎨 Then we will create collages together which will be used in a small zine (independent, non-profit magazine) for sharing our joint learnings.
🫘 After, we will eat a simple plant-based dinner together (pay-what-you-want).

Bog bodies
Our team (for now…) consists of Sarafina and Sebastien, who are active in facilitating communities in Aarhus with a focus on knowledge-sharing, along with illustrator Miriana and author Ceilaghan, who bring their comic and book fair experience and much more! We hope you will join us in The Swamp… as a creator of materials, volunteer in our popups and events, or as part of our organising team of bog bodies.
